These 4 Spring Jackets Will Change the Way You Dress This Season

Neon Fix

The most important purchase you can make this season is a spring jacket. Spring is a season of such variable weather: We all need to be able to transition from the windy remnants of winter, to the heat of the rediscovered sun, back into the breeze as the clouds return.

I feel your pain—it's too warm for my favorite anorak but not quite hot enough to go without an outer layer. Working on the print magazine, we are currently fully immersed in fall trends, but I tend to revisit the fresh spring shows for dressing inspiration as the temperature slowly climbs. Check out the four looks below for four totally different ways to stay warm in the spring breeze.

Blazers are my personal favorite. You can go for a cropped shape to wear at the office, or layer a longer tuxedo blazer over a mini for a night out. Take day-to-night inspiration from this look from No. 21. For a more casual styling tip, layer your blazer over a hoodie to add a little more dimension to your look!

The motorcycle jacket is really just an edgier blazer. Throw it on when you want to kick your look up a notch, but like a blazer, pair it with everything from jeans to a cocktail dress. A classic black leather jacket goes with everything, but don't be afraid to fall in love with a moto jacket in a cool fabric or color, like this one from Rag & Bone.

If you want something a little more casual than a blazer, but don't feel that a moto jacket fits your personal style, go for an army jacket, like this one from Bottega Veneta. Army-inspired jackets are all over the market, from the most structured and detailed to the most distressed and casual. Find the one that fits your personal style best.

Nothing is more classic than a trench. And no one does a trench better than Burberry. With a longer and more streamlined silhouette than the three jackets above, a great trench coat is always office-appropriate (but looks great with jeans and a T-shirt as well).
