Rihanna to be honored with the CDFA Fashion Icon Award

She earned an icon award at the American Music Awards last year, and now pop star Rihanna is receiving a similar honor from the fashion world.The award is “given to an individual whose style has made a significant impact on popular culture on an international stage” - past recipients include Lady Gaga, Iman, Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman.
“We are proud to present Rihanna with the CFDA Fashion Icon Award for her impact on the industry as fashion’s most exciting ambassador in recent memory,” said Steven Kolb, CEO of CFDA.
The fashion-forward star has been at the forefront of the high fashion and street wear style movement.
She is as well known for her performance ensembles and glam award-show dresses as she is for her ever-changing hair, tattoos and long fingernails.
She also collaborated on a fashion line with River Island last year, is BFFs with Karl Lagerfeld, and has inked deals with MAC Cosmetics and Armani.
