VICTORIA’S SECRET WILL STOP CARRYING MAKEUP!

Neon Fix

Awww with a heavy heart I’m unhappy to share the news that Victoria’s Secret will stop carrying makeup. Don’t get me wrong, Victoria’s Secret Makeup is a hit or miss even but sometimes you come out of the experience with a really nice score!

Plus I admit I really liked the seasonal collections!

Dispatch.com reports, “In order to increase our focus on our fastest-growing, most-profitable businesses, we are exiting some of our non-core apparel categories in (Victoria’s Secret) Direct, as well as Victoria’s Secret Makeup,” Victoria’s Secret CEO Sharen Turney said.

Don’t worry! They will continue to focus on their fragrance collection but unfortunately makeup will begin phasing out and be gone altogether by the new year!

I don’t think by any means in the world was it some of the best makeup around but I really did enjoy the limited edition seasonal collections and of course, the Beauty Rush bits and bobs!

Strange that Victoria’s Secret is phasing out of makeup and so many other brands like Top Shop, H&M, and Forever 21 are looking to expand their makeup collections. I guess there is a market for department store branded makeup.

Rihanna the Makeup Artist?

Neon Fix

The talented Rihanna and Jack of all trades ; singer, Performer, model, actress, designer, philanthropist, queen of the strippers (pour it up video reference) vigilante, rebel, Instagram photo bomber, & creative director, has recently added makeup artist to her long list of vocations. She was seen at a recent clippers game doing A FULL COAT of red lipstick. . .( and here's the kicker) without using a mirror. I know we are way too excited. Anything hair, makeup & style easily amuses Neon.

The History of Make up For ever

Neon Fix

Bubbling over with creativity, Dany Sanz got an early start in the art world and the night world, populated with colourful characters. For this former fine arts student, her calling became clear when some friends asked her to do the makeup for a show. With her committed and generous attitude, and perfect mastery of shapes and interplays of shadow and light, she put all of her energy into the first body paintings. She was one of the creators of this movement, which she considers to be a means of artistic expression in itself.

Backstage, she stole the spotlight with her makeup creations that caught the eye of professionals worldwide. The media began to focus on this artist with such an electric temperament.

A professor at heart, she created the first professional makeup school in Europe in the 70s. It met with great success due to the quality of the teaching, the excellence of the makeup techniques that she taught and the special relationship that she nurtured with her students.
Avant-garde, creative and a pioneer of makeup, Dany Sanz decided to formulate textures to compensate for the limited professional product offer at the time. Dany Sanz’s life would be makeup… forever.

A COMPANY CREATED BY AN ARTIST IN 1984

When she realised that her formulas were increasingly appreciated, Dany Sanz felt that the moment had come to create her own brand. Her renowned product expertise and her intuition for development were her best allies.

In 1984, MAKE UP FOR EVER was created. Professor in a makeup school by day, Dany Sanz spent her nights creating new formulas for products that she packaged in her famous “cellar”, the basement of the future boutique at 5 rue La Boétie in the 8th district of Paris. Between makeup lessons at the school, and helped by her students, she packaged her products there. This legendary site is now a meeting spot for the makeup artists of Paris and all over the world. In this special place, they find products adapted to their needs. They meet here and spend hours in this sanctuary of creation.

Carnival Hermes "World of Women"

Neon Fix

Hermes and carnivals aren't things that sound like they'd go together. The disparity in taste level (and cost) between a $7,000 leather bag, popcorn, and horse racing games might seem, well, vast. Only last night, at the third installment of Hermes' "World of Women"—a showcase for all the scarves, leather goods, and clothes that make up Hermes' "women's universe" (similar exhibitions have been mounted in Shanghai and Paris)—it all made sense.

800 guests made their way downtown to "The Corner" at 23 Wall St, and for five or so hours, a former J.P. Morgan office building became the site of Hermes' spectacular carnival. Champagne flowed freely and at each turn, a new surprise:

A choreographed dance routine involving Hermes bags...

A faux-synchronized swimming number featuring Hermes scarves and bathing suits (and a delicious raw bar)...

A "Bangle Bar" where guests were served champagne at a bar comprised of two enormous enamel bangles by bartenders whose arms were stacked with bangles...

A photo booth with carousel ponies and more scarves (yes, Martha Stewart got in on the action)...

And and a horse racing game, where, it must be said, I beat Jodie Foster.

Some might equate old world luxury with stuffiness. Hermes would prove you wrong.

8 Outfits To Kick This Weekend's Butt

Neon Fix

The Workout Way: We won't say that colorblocking your bike gear helps the ride, but it certainly can't hurt. We love how these shades clash with each other and the printed shorts. A SPIbelt will help you carry your keys and cellphone, but it's so thin you'll hardly notice you're wearing it as the miles tick by.

The Brunch Switchup: Pair high-waist trousers with a low and chunky heel, a crossbody bag, and top it off with your pale-blue vest from earlier in the day. The best part of this look, however, is the Alexander Wang sports bra with a triangular shape that channels the ultimate '90s crop-top queen: Gwen Stefani.

The Brunch Switchup: A long, white vest can transform a basic tee and gym pants (although, you don't have to tell anyone that's what they are) into something seriously polished. A few statement accessories make this look feel special as you head out for your pal's annual, fancy-pants rooftop mimosa toast.

The Workout Way: So, your headstand could use a little work, and maybe you napped a bit too much during savasana — it's okay! If you're looking to step up your game, sartorially speaking, bring in a few clever details to your practice, such as a belted shirt, leggings with sheer panels, and sneakers (strictly for commuting, of course) that have a sophisticated splash of color. Plus, an art-deco printed mat might just motivate you for the next series of downward dogs.

The Brunch Switchup: Ditch most of the tight stuff and throw on a loose maxi when you head out for your favorite breakfast sandwich and a walk through the weekend flea. As for Solange's recent antics one can only assume she was acting and thought they were still filming the promotional video. Sorry couldn't help myself. LOVE YOU SOLANGE!  Watch Video Below.
