Beauty News:Herieth Paul is the Newest Face of Maybelline

Neon Fix

Tanzanian beauty Herieth Paul is no newcomer to the fashion industry: she’s walked for DVF, Tom Ford, Armani, and 3.1 Phillip Lim to name a few. The model’s latest endeavor is lending her good looks to Maybelline as one of their newest faces:

Paul gushed about the role on Instagram stating, “This has been the hardest-kept secret of my entire life AND the highlight of my career. I am so honored & excited to announce that I am joining the Maybelline family!!!! I’m so grateful to be named a global spokesmodel for the world’s #1 cosmetics brand.”

I love the ensemble!

Kudos to Maybelline: we’re always here for a brand showcasing #blackgirlmagic! Paul is an absolute stunner and the choice couldn’t be more fitting.

CHILDREN ARE THE HOTTEST NEW ACCESSORY AT FASHION WEEK

Neon Fix

Julien Macdonald’s AW16 show yesterday included two children. [Photo: Rex]

Children on the front row is nothing new. North West’s graced numerous FROW’s in her time, Harper Beckham’s a permanent feature on her dad’s knee at Victoria’s bi-annual New York Fashion Week show and Tamara Ecclestone’s taken her daughter Sophia to a number of catwalk presentations.

But, there seem to be more children than ever at Fashion Week now - both walking (or being carried) in shows and watching them.

Julien Macdonald made a splash at his AW16 show at London Fashion Week yesterday when he included two (very angelic looking) kids in his grand finale.

His much-talked about show, held at the oh-so-grand gothic church One Mayfair, featured a dazzling array of womenswear. But it was the two youngsters who stole the show.

At least, though, they were there for a reason. The British fashion designer is expanding into childrenswear and used the opportunity to give press and buyers a glimpse at what his Kardashian-inspired range would include.

And Macdonald isn’t the only designer to include children in his line-up. At NYFW show Gypsy Sport, a model took to the catwalk with a metal statement necklace and a newborn baby wrapped in a brown blanket as her accessories.

Without a doubt, for autumn/winter 2016, infants have been upgraded from lap seats to spots on the runway itself.

There was a hint of this trend last season, when a number of Dolce & Gabbana models took to the catwalk in Milan with their children in tow.

Some 11 women and their children walked for the high-end label and the line-up even included a heavily pregnant model. But, like Julien Macdonald’s show, there was a reason for the underage additions. The entire SS16 collection was dedicated to mums to allow “fashion to be seen as an extension of where one comes from,” the show’s notes stated.

But for Gypsy Sport there seems to be no rhyme or reason why a baby was included.

It’s not just designers and celebs who are boasting youngsters at Fashion Week. More non-famous attendees than ever are taking their tots to watch fashion shows – even though they would surely rather spend their half term vegged out in front of the TV or out doing just about anything else.

Let’s be honest: Watching models strut down a catwalk definitely isn’t a fun-filled activity for a schoolchild.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK TEN MEMORABLE MOMENTS: MARC JACOB'S HILLARY CLINTON T-SHIRT TO DVF'S SUPERMODEL LINEUP

Neon Fix

The fashion flock has flown off to Europe for London Fashion Week but let's take some time to look back at ten memorable moments from New York Fashion Week.

Moment #10 on Saturday, Feb. 13: when Rebecca Minkoff showed a spring collection in the middle of winter.

Rebecca Minkoff presented a spring collection during NYFW, thus becoming the first American designer to test out a new format that everyone in the fashion industry is talking about. She also, following in the footsteps of last season's Givenchy show, took the almost unprecented step to  invite her customers - as well as editors and buyers - to her show.

Moment #9 on Thursday, Feb.18: When Marc Jacobs wore a Hilary Clinton t shirt.

Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch, and Public School have designed campaign tees for Hillary Clinton under the label, "Made for History." Jacobs took a bow after his Fall/Winter 2016 runway show wearing a glittery version.

"My support for Hillary is grounded on our long-standing shared belief in equality," said the 52-year-old designer, adding, "I am proud to share this T-shirt as a champion for equal rights, for the progress we have made, and for the hope of continued progress with Hillary as president."  the designer told Vogue.com.

Actor Jaden Smith, 17, and his model girlfriend Sarah Snyder, 19, made an adorable couple as they sat front row at Opening Ceremony

Smith, the son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith and Snyder, are reported to have started dating earlier this summer after being spotted together for the first time at the "Pitch Perfect 2" premiere in May.

Moment #7 on Friday, Feb. 12: When the models at FENTY PUMA by Rihanna had white hair

On Friday night Rihanna presented her Fenty x Puma by Rihanna fall 2016 collection. The drama of the goth-meets-streetstyle clothes was matched by the beauty look. Each model wore painted white, slicked back hair to give an illusion of being frozen in time. The hair was also paired with very dark lips, pale eyeshadow and brushed brows.

The hair was designed by Yusef Williams who is also Rihanna's personal stylist. Williams explained, "Rih Rih wanted the show to have "artic urban forest," hair. She had a very strong idea; she was like, 'I just want to see white. I want it to feel like frozen," he told E! News.

Moment #6 on Thursday, Feb. 11: When the Kardashian-Jenner clan wore matching outfits at Yeezy Season 3

At the Yeezy Season 3 presentation held at Madison Square Garden, wife Kim, daughter North and the Kardashian-Jenner ladies Kris, Kourtney, Khloé, and Kylie all turned out in white and nude duds to support designer Kanye West. Caitlyn and Kendall appeared to be in almost identical outfits, both wearing white sweater dresses.

According to People Style Watch West collaborated with Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing (also in the audience) on their neutral-toned ensembles.

"Olivier, thank you for doing the collaboration. Two weeks ago when I flew into Paris and designed . . . the whole family's outfits - can ya'll stand up for one second?" West, 38, said during the event, then asking the audience to clap for his family and the French designer. "Will the church please say 'Amen'? Make some noise for Olivier."

Moment #4 on Wednesday, Feb. 17: When Michael Kors sold clothes and accessories right off the runway

Michael Kors began offering customers select, just-off-the-runway styles immediately following the show. The edit, entitled "Ready-to-Wear, Ready to Go," includes clothing, shoes and handbags. It's available for purchase on MichaelKors.com.

Moment #3 on Sunday, Feb. 14: When the world's most famous models were in Diane von Furstenberg's 14th street store

(Photo : Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images )

Diane Von Furstenberg broke with tradition replacing her runway show with a presentation at her West 14th Street headquarters. Lily Aldridge, Alanna Arrington, Jourdan Dunn, Irina Shayk, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss and Elsa Hosk wore outfits from the FW16 collection and danced to disco music while Von Furstenberg clapped along.

Moment #2 on Monday, Feb. 15: When Jeremy Scott brought nightlife back to Manhattan

(Photo : (Madison McGraw/BFA)Jeremy Scott After-Party)

It has been some years now since all the cool kids moved the party to Brooklyn. Jeremy Scott helped to reverse the trend during NYFW by holding his runway show's after party at Michael Satsky's new Chelsea temple to techno, Flash Factory.

Guests included Leigh Lezark, Sam and Cailli Beckerman, Ellen Von Unwerth, Cindy Bruna and CL. Mia Moretti, DJ Sita, DJ Mazurbate and the Misshapes were the disc jockeys.

Moment #2 on Sunday, Feb. 14: When the Beckham kids watched their mom's runway show

(Photo : JEWEL SAMAD/AFP/Getty Images )

It was par for the course that two such physically blessed individuals as David and Victoria Beckham would have equally delightful looking children and so it has come to pass. Beckham's runway show, in its traditional Sunday morning of NYFW spot, saw the whole family sit front row alongside Anna Wintour.

Attendees kept one eye on the clothes and the other on the Beckham brood. Brooklyn, 16, is a budding photographer, Romeo, 14, is a seasoned model for Burberry. Cruz is 11 and Harper is 4. Elton John and David Furnish are reportedly the godparents of Brooklyn and Romeo, and their godmother is Elizabeth Hurley.

Moment #1 on Monday, Feb. 15: When it snowed and fashionistas didn't care show

After the biting cold of the first few days, day 5 of NYFW saw temperatures rise a little creating some relief for the fashion flocks. Then it started to snow. Many attendees barely seemed to notice, so focused were they on getting from show to show in a timely fashion.

Diane von Furstenberg once again proved her status as the fashion industry's ultimate champion of girl power with her Fall 2016 presentation today. Tapping Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Jourdan Dunn, Karlie Kloss (who's also the face of the brand's spring campaign), Lily Aldridge and Irina Shayk, the designer assembled a power model squad that would even manage to make Taylor Swift envious. Forgoing the traditional runway, the models instead had a dance party, sing-along and even a conga line in the Fall 2016 collection. From belting out "I'm Every Woman" to snapping pictures of each other on Polaroids, this was a better-dressed version of the classic slumber party—and you're going to wish you were invited.
